Tulsa Symphony - Debussy and Rachmaninoff

A glorious finale
Why see Tulsa Symphony - Debussy and Rachmaninoff?
Season Closer
Tulsa Symphony Orchestra presents its 2024-2025 season finale in style, featuring the musical mastery of Claude Debussy and Sergei Rachmaninoff to bring down the curtain. With Debussy's Nocturnes and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 starring, the program also features Oscar Navarro's latin-infused Downey Overture, all conducted by the guesting Marcelo Lehninger and featuring the Tulsa Chorale.
Inspired by the shifting textures of light and movement, Nocturnes paints a vivid, impressionistic soundscape that moves from the mysterious shimmer of "Nuages" to the joyous, dance-like energy of "Ftes. Meanwhile, Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, written at a pivotal moment in the composer's life, provides a sweeping display of romantic intensity, full of soaring melodies and lyrical movement.
