Hitting the road September 21.

Tina Fey's multi Tony-nominated musical version of her 2004 movie is heading out on its first national tour this fall! Opening in Buffalo on September 21, it's time to meet the actors who will be starring as Mean Girls' inimitable Plastics.

Taking on the role of Regina George, Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith will be Mariah Rose Faith, Megan Masako Haley, and Jonalyn Saxer, respectively. The trio will be joining previously announced Kate Morrissey who takes on the role of Janis Sarkisian.

This production will mark the touring debut of Mariah Rose Faith who is a singer-songwriter and an alum on StarKid Productions (A Very Potter Musical). Megan Masako Haley's previous theatre credits include the national tour of Wicked, where she played Nessarose and the off-Broadway production of Pacific Overtures. Saxer joins the tour after being an ensemble member of the original Broadway cast of Mean Girls, where she understudied the roles of Cady, Regina, and Karen. Saxer has also appeared in Holiday Inn, CATS and Honeymoon in Vegas

Directed by Casey Nicholaw Mean Girls features a book by none other than Tina Fey herself, with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin. Premiering on Broadway in March 2018, Mean Girls garnered twelve 2018 Tony Award nominations, including the nomination for Best Musical.

What is Mean Girls about?

Cady Heron is a bright home-schooled student who has spent most of her life in Africa with her parents. Now back in the US, she's sent to the local high school to learn to play with others. Turns out, it might be her biggest challenge yet. Coupled with learning what normal school is like, she must navigate the twisting social whirl that surrounds her. When she finds herself the target of the infamous Plastics, led by wolf in sheep's clothing Regina George, Cady decides with her new friends Janis and Damien that it's time to put a stop to their dictatorship.

As Cady's plan sees her growing ever more popular and catching the eye of a certain boy, her revenge seems less and less important. Can Cady rediscover herself and bring down the Plastics, or will she be seduced by their world and lost to the Mathletes forever? It might be a classic high-school conundrum but we guarantee you won't mind seeing how this one plays out.

Mean Girls will be on tour from September 21.
